in pennsylvania, upstate new york and some new england states. thousands are now stranded at airports across the country. >> you can't change it so you take it for what it is and make the best of a bad situation. >> in the bay area dozens of flights to the east coast were also grounded. bay area airports have also had days of delays because of rain here and with more rain expected on friday the local flight delays could continue through new year's. >> a hospital is set to reopen today after it was forced to close because of sandy. 300 had to be evacuated from the medical center at the time of the storm. the hospital received $150 million in federal aid. some outpatient services have already been back in operation since last month. >>> and a vigil was held for two new york firefighters shot to death on monday night. dozens of people turned out in the community of webster new york. they braved frigid temperatures to take part in the memorial. the suspect set his house on fire and then started shooting at random before killing himself. two others were hurt and are still in the hospital. >>>
to webster new york for services honoring two firefighters killed on duty. they were gunned down trying to put out a fire on christmas eve. the gunman torched his home and opened fire and later committed suicide. the two firefighters will be buried sunday and monday. those from around the u.s. are there for the funerals and thanks to local donations many are staying at local hotels for free. >> it's the out pouring of the community, we had people from florida, michigan have been calling in to donate hotel rooms. >> hotels are holding special receptions today through monday as well for webster firefighters and family members of the victims. >> it's been two weeks since a gunman killed 27 people in connecticut before taking his own life. now scientists will analyze the dna of 20 year old adam lanza. genetic specialists will be looking for a mutation or abnormality that could increase aggressive or violent behavior. however people that carry the same or similar signs in their dna will be stigmatized. >> a new york woman is facing several charges after she set up a charity scam following th

clinton is still in a new york hospital. she's been treated for a blood clot. now spokesperson for the secretary says doctors found the clot during a follow up exam for that concussion she suffered about two weeks ago. she is 65 years old. she had a stomach virus when she fainted due to dehydration and hit her head. that caused a concussion. secretary clinton is being treated with blood thinners for that blood clot. >>> it's 6:16. a san diego police officer is in serious condition after his patrol car was hit by a suspected drunk driver. the crash happened early sunday morning. sheriffs deputies say a suspected drunk driver was speeding reason a red light and hit the driver. it was trapped for nearly an hour before firefighters could get him out. the driver that crashed and the officer were not seriously hurt. and was arrested. >>> that leads us right to tara moriarty. you're talking about advising people don't drink and drive on this new years eve. >> definitely. no reason to do that with mass transit offering so many free rides. muni offering free rides from 8:00 tonight unti
. there are nine states which allow recognized same-sex marriage, massachusetts, iowa, vermont, new york, connecticut, new hampshire. i think hawaii is on that list too. one, two, three, four, five. and the district of columbia plus the state of this year just added, maryland and washington plus, remember the president of the united states himself, who used to be on the fence on this issue has now come out and said he full ly sports same-sex marriage. the obama administration has refused to defend the defense of marriage act. john boehner and eric cantor are still doing it, but the administration is not. the department of justice is not. they said they don't believe in the defense of marriage act any more and they wereare not going to defend it and they hope congress over turns it. george will said here is one of the reasons why politically it has changed. >> they can say it's now safe to look at this because there is something like an emerging consensus. quite literally, the opposition to day garianingmarriage is dying. it's old people. >> it's old people.
of people who feel like doug cast does who writes with me with a piece in "the new york times" saying that -- >> most stuff is nontaxable accounts any way. most stocks that people won't be as motivated to sell as people think. of course that doesn't necessarily deal with the increase in payroll taxes and the whole recession side of it. it does deal with the stock market side in terms of selling. >> why not say, listen, fiscal cliff, i have to cut numbers. i have to cut guidance. i think many ceos will cut guidance because of the possibility that the amt is going to -- this alternative minimum tax, people don't know they have to write a check for $3,500 at the end of the year. once you jump over the cliff, you can reverse the payroll tax. senator corker who is terrific and had good privilege of talking with him this weekend, we both know you can't reverse amt. once you go over the cliff, amt is insidious. it's hard to figure out. >> in terms of negotiations we will sit here day after day, is it more theatrics, are they really stalled, will we get down to something at the end of the day

of the wine they're making. dirck bass is an architect. he built the gypsy wagon in 19-70 in upstate new york, when luke was just a boy. it was built with a tow hitch. i put it onto a rental truck. put all of our possessions in the rental truck and pulled it out west. some might say this lifestyle's inconvenient, more of a hassle than it's worth. but if you ask luke and elena, living in a trailer in the middle of a vineyard really does have its perks. it's about quality of life. by living in the wagon i don't have to get a second job to pay the rent or to pay the mortgage. and elena can do the work she loves... it's really gotten me way more in touch much with what's happening in the vineyard and the cycles of the vineyard. ...so it really just allows us the opportunity to live the life we want. if the winery turns a profit, luke and elena might consider moving out of the old wagon. in the meantime, they're hard at work in the vineyards, near their little gypsy home. to get the things you want, you have to prioritize. and we didn't know if it was going to work, and it really has. it's been a
